, I read something you were writing to Rita about it being a good thing that the implants were under the muscle because the breast tissue was not affected. This is worrying me because my implants are above my muscle. What do you mean ? Could pieces of silicon get into the breast tissue? ----- Original Message ----- From: naturalbeauty38 Sent: Thursday, July 31, 2003 10:05 AM Subject: I would not put much trust into what your previous PS said about your implants or how you would look after explant. They don't want to admit that there can be anything wrong with implants, first and foremost and most of them are not experienced at removing implants and you probably will not have a good result with this type of surgeon anyhow. It is interesting that they all seem to say this to us. They don't want give us any hope that we can look good after explant. That is why you need to talk with an expert and go to the best out there at removing implants and restoring breasts to being natural and beautiful. I really have not heard of anyone that is unhappy with their results if they go to a great surgeon. Dr Feng is the best at making breasts look gorgeous. Till you see her you cannot know for sure what is possible for your breasts. Esp if your young and you sound like you had some tissue before. You do not lose tissue in explant when it is done by a caring expert who knows how to do it right. Dr Feng told me she does not remove breast tissue at all. She does do awesome lifts if that is needed but that is more of a tightening of the skin and you don't really lose tissue from a lift either. I would not lie to you, this is serious. Don't just listen to your PS. get a second opinion. Think about your kids and the future if you want more. Don't let yourself get talked into keeping implants that will harm you and down the road who knows what other symptoms may pop up. Better to get them out now before your illness turns into something worse. Autoimmune diseases are tricky and have times where they wax and wane and your symptoms of burning sound scary and like they could turn into something worse down the road. If you get the implants out your life will very likely be spared years of suffereing down the road. I hope and pray that you will think about this long and hard and try to get the courage up to see an expert about what the real outcome of explant will be. I think that you should also look at the photos on this site and notice how no one looks worse after explant. I really was all implant with hardly any tissue there. My implants were under the muscle.....I don't know how much smooshing occurs, but I do know they were very firm, unnaturally so. Of course, in the worst cases of silicone gel rupture, a number of them lost their whole breasts. But with saline, I really don't think tissue loss is a concern. The implant and scar tissue will be removed, but not breast tissue, and the breast tissue that is there, if it was smooshed at all won't take long to fluff back out. I have been tested for everything and the doctors can't find anything wrong with me. I had some other issues about 2 years ago with numbness and pain but they went away and I have had burning for a year and a half. I have just recently discovered that it may be my implants! Did your breast ti ssue slowly expand back out? It is not going back to the size that I was before that scares me. It is being flatter because of the implants! Did you have to have a lift? Were your implants above or below the muscle?> I know this is a lot of questions but all of these things are on my mind. Also, I am concerned about the burning not going away. NO I did not mean it that way. I meant that often times the implants

being under the muscle make them have less of an affect on the actual

breast tissue since they never actually touch it, with regards to how

they might look esp without a lift, I think it is probably easier to

remove them when they are above the muscle. I have seen good outcomes

either way, but I do think that when they are above the muscle they

tend to cause more sag, therefore causing more need for a lift.

Hope that helps

Subject: Re: stiffness

Hi Sally-

et al-

I keep thinking... I feel better since starting LDN but I feel

stiffer

than I use to.

It reminds me very much of when I was in physical therapy almost 2

years ago.

My PT used to tell me with " tone " comes the stiffness. That I needed

to do more stretching than exercising. Lots of warms up for these

cold

muscles. It did help but I felt like I was climbing a 90° hill.

hmmmm....... things are different now- with the LDN.

I know I have atrophied muscles.

I have been stretching but maybe I need more than that?

I'm going to hit some of these garage sales and see if I can find a

exercise bike for my cold muscles that the LDN is trying to heat up.

I'll bet anyone who is feeling stiff it's because tone is returning

to

cold muscles- stretch and mild exercise should help relieve some of

the stiffness. Maybe relieve all of it?

thoughts?
