Guest guest
I just wanted to write and say a big " GREAT JOB! " to all of you who advocate for your children and push and work so hard! I've just come from 's pre-school class. There is a little boy in there that I haven't quite put my finger on what his diagnosis would be classified as.He definitely has ADHD. Unfortunately, he is one of those that the parents do NOTHING for him, and the school has had to intervene with services. I've just come from the school where I had to sit and endure watching one of the women, I don't know what she would be classified as, I assume an occupational therapist. She has NO understanding of this guy. It was so sad to sit and listen to her talk to him the way she did. And I knew that it exactly what some of you have been through or are going through. She was just awful. Very authoratative, and he could care less. I was a daycare teacher in a developmental center for 4 years prior to becoming a mom and then did home daycare for 8 years. I had two children (from the same family) who had some definite developmental delays as well as probably ADD if not ADHD on top of that. I know how frustrating it can be to not have the parent's support or having to deal with a parent's denial that there is a problem. So I know how frustrating it is for a teacher to have to deal with a " problem child " . But when the parents don't even attempt to help their child...... I was just so broken-hearted over this woman's treatment of this student. So, I had to come home and wish you all a " GREAT JOB! " because all of you are so willing to fight for your children, even when the school hasn't a clue what they are doing, and treat the children so disrespectfully because they haven't got a clue.
