Guest guest
After our son's recent diagnosis of Asperger's at 4 years old, our son's neuro-behavioral doc has suggested that we begin with enrolling our son in an integrated preschool and start an individualized parenting class given by another medical professional on his staff. These classes are called Triple P and last 10 weeks (5 sessions for my husband and I and 5 sessions that will include our son). If there is not good improvement after about 3 months, he will begin him in a social skills class. He suggested Lexapro as well, but we told him that at this point, we didn't know enough about the medication to make a decision to let him take it and that we would likely use it only if nothing else works. My husband wants to leave it all up to the doctor and refuses to listen to anything that I read in books or in these posts. My questions to you all are: Have you heard of these classes? If so, any success stories? How about experience with Lexapro? My son really acts out with hitting and running away at school. The doctor believes its because of the anxiety he feels in certain environments. Any suggestions???
