As I expected Dr Bihari has responded that it is not necessary or good to take a break from LDN as dependency will not occur. You must decide what you intend to do but I will certainly continue taking LDN all the time with no break. Regards ce.
Guest guest
Hi Ilene, I completely understand your confusion. Let me tell you a little of my experience with LDN, that somehow it will help you and others. I started with 3mg for 30 days, and was doing pretty well....then thought I could do better, went up to 4.5....had a lot of stiffness and felt tired, so went back down to 3mg, felt good, but listenen to all who were doing well on 4.5, so up I went again. I've stayed on the 4.5 for a month....wasn't doing well, but decided to stick with it. In the past week or so, I have been very sick (might have had a urinary tract infection, but just felt awful. I thought I was having an exacerbation. I called my pharmisist and he suggested going back to 3mg (he actually thought I should have stayed on 3mg from the beginning) So last night I took my first 3mg (again) and today I feel great....stronger, better balance....basically back to normal. I've said this before, but I'm sticking to 3mg........it must be my dose. I think Dr. Bahari is right......Start at the high, 4.5mg , and if you find it is too much (side effects, stiffness, insomnia, tiredness, then back down until you find *your* dose. MORE IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER WITH LDN. I hope this helps you make your decision Ilene. All my good wishes for you and all the other confused ldners out there. (including myself...lol) Sally Sally, I have been taking 1.5 mg LDN for 4 days. I have not noticed anydifference. However on the first day I had a lot of energy and did things Ihaven't been able to do an awhile, like ride the tractor for 2 hours, etc.(Here in the South we had coincidentally gotten our 1st cool spell and itwas in the 70s for the first time in months, so I don't know whether it wasthe LDN or the lack of oppressive heat.) Then day 2, I was exhausted. I amnot noticing anything else. In your opinion do you think I should stay atthis dose or increase? I have read where Dr B recommends starting high anddecreasing. I am confused. I originally thought I would go to 3.0 in aweek. Now I am confused. Thank you for your input.
