I copy part of it below:

DL-Phenylalanine: The amino acid DL-phenylalanine has been

reported to slow down the breakdown of endorphins and other

painkillers. Daytime usage of this amino acid (taken on an

empty stomach) may help to sustain the benefit of nighttime

usage of naltrexone by maintaining high levels of endorphins.

Fillers: Check with the pharmacy to make sure either calcium,

cornstarch or some other fast release filler is used in the

naltrexone capsules. Those with lactose sensitivities need to

check for lactose-free capsules. Compounding Pharmacies for

3 mg naltrexone: Option Care Compounding Pharmacy 800-679-4667

Prescription Center 800-203-9066

NOTE: One MS patient said the least expensive naltrexone could be

obtained through a prescription for a few 50 mg caps or tabs. One

50 mg tab would be crushed and mixed in 50 ml of distilled water,

which would be shaken and then 3 ml taken before bed. People using

this method must make sure no slow release fillers are used.

I am personally leaning towards this method:

using a mortar & pestle crush one 50mg tablet to powder

dissolve powder in 50 ml distilled water

use graduated sealable container

with a 10ml needle less syringe withdraw THREE ml or

however many your dosage corresponds to

put the rest in the fridge, sealed

put the dose in your bedtime drink of choice or

a glass of water

The ones used to inject Avonex are the kind that is needed

(before you put the needle in them).

They have ml graduations.

No filler, no avicel (cellulose, *very* inert), no compounding.

You could get a pharmacist to make up the liquid and

put it in bottle for you. But I would not use anything but

distilled water, and keep it in the refrigerator (the liquid,

not the pills).

From Lynn Cohen:

> hi Lea...I am changing for 2 reasons. First, of course, is the

money.

> Irmat is $38 for 30/3mg and Skips is $11 for 30/3mg. I also have a

Skip...he was

> able to make her meds into chewables, liquid or lollipops... It was

> terrific. When I went on the ldn I didn't think to check with Skip,

and now

> I'm sorry as I spent alot of extra money that I didn't have to. I

trust Skip

> and he explained about the filler and also I take 4AP and get that

from Skip

> too. With all of the " stuff " I take every dollar counts and if it

works the
