Guest guest
Purtnear and danielle - I have always felt certain that the onset of my fybro/PA syndrome was spurred by a major life change. ceratinly a change for the better, but i was unprepared for the affects of going back to school, leaving a creative career which i identified with and moving in with a family member would have on me. i wondered if others experienced similiar triggers. barb DaniGran@... wrote: > From: DaniGran@... > > Purtnear - > > I have never really thought about when I got PA and what was happening in my > life, but now that you mention it, I was under a lot of stress. Guest guest
Hi , I too believe that a lot of RA comes from trauma. I am the only one in my family who has ever had this disease. Six years ago I hurt my neck, I went to a doctor who fooled around and the injury was never fixed. Two years later knowing and not getting any better I was told I had RA. To let you see how I knew nothing about it, I said so what. I had absolutely no idea what this disease was about. It is through my entire body, I know now how nasty this disease can be. Guest guest
I believe emotional trauma could have started my RA. What I just remembered where all the business problems I was having due to the Florida wild fires at that time. Along with all the finacial problems I was also just getting married and my knees and shoulder were hurting real bad. On our honeymoon in the North Carolina mountains I could hardly walk on the rocks in the streams like I always loved to do. Then three weeks after our wedding my son broke up with a girl friend and he decided to kill himself with a shotgun. That was a little over two years ago and I was hurting in a few joints about a month before the suicide so I never connected the two because I always remembered I was hurting before he did it. Now I see I was under a lot of stress before the pain started and after the suicide I was just hanging on of a couple years. Thats the hardest thing I will ever have to deal with next to the RA. Where we all under a lot of stress when we first started hurting? Thanks for helping me remember in sunny Florida > In a message dated 4/13/01 8:15:35 AM Eastern Daylight Time, > ruf-caimi@e... writes: > > << I too believe that a lot of RA comes from trauma. >> > > I would have to agree also. Guest guest
, I'm so sorry that your son killed himself. I can't imagine having to cope with the loss of one of my children, especially due to suicide. I pray that you can move forward with a lighter heart someday. ----- Original Message ----- From: <kwpatb@...> < > Sent: Friday, April 13, 2001 9:41 PM Subject: [ ] Re: trauma > I believe emotional trauma could have started my RA. Guest guest
, I agree that RA could be cause by stress or emoitonal trauma or even physical trauma. In 's case i believe it started during me being pregnant with him. I was always on a AB for a kidney or bladder infection and i had many yeast infections when i was pregnant for him as well. I remember at about the end of Jan of 89 right before my husband at the time was sent down here to alabama to Fort McCullen for NBC training for the army national guards. He left early Feb and i had in March. 2 weeks early and was born with a club foot. When was about 2 he stated complaining of pain in his legs. He had treatment and surgery for the club foot but at age one after surgery they made an AFO brace for him and he had to relearn how to walk. The drs then said it was growing pains. now jesse has always been small for his age so i didn't believe it was growing pains but what can a mom do. We moved to FL and started taking jesse to the shriners hospital in Tampa FL and they did some tests at my request. Blood work came back abnormal. They refered us to H.L. Moffet Cancer Ins. also in Tampa and they tested for many things. It came back that he had a very high Rheumatoid count but our family dr could treat him for JRA. the next 2 yrs got worse and worse. he could barely breath. His breathing was so labored and he couldn't even walk to the bathroom. he needed me to help him with everything including holding a cup. He was 6 yrs old and weighed 29 pounds. I knew something was really wrong with my baby. I found a peds Rheumy at All Childrens Hospital in St. Pete. sorry i didn't mean rattle on and on. Maybe there is just a connection in everyones story that may help find a reason or at least a clue. I am sorry to hear about your son. My heart goes out to you. I have all sons and my heart would break 10 times over if i ever lost one them. you have come to the right place and i don't remember if i welcomed you so welcome to the group. shelly
Guest guest
, I'm sorry that your son ended his life. My brother committed suicide and it really was awful for our family. I hope I never know the pain of loosing a child. Stress has caused me to flare on several occasions, so I know it is a direct link for me. My disease started with an auto accident, and with each stressful event in my life, new joints were involved. I'm sorry you've been through so much and hope the future is brighter for you and for all of us. a ----- Original Message ----- From: kwpatb@... Guest guest
I went in for a CD4+ T-cell blood test yesterday - I hope this also measures killer cells - my doc wants to measure T-cells before & after starting LDN.... Dr. Bihari's comment that once endorphins go down, they don't go back up interests me - my first MS symptoms were 4 months after my mother's suicide...it was so traumatic. I am PP.... Also, I can walk almost normally at 2-4 in the wee hours of the morning, when endorphins are produced according to Bihari, so I am hoping the LDN works for me as I am progressing esp. re fatigue.
