Does everyone have sleep problems when starting 4.5mg LDN. If so how

long do the sleep problems last. Also does everyone get leg

stiffness and again how long doesit last. I hope to start ldn soon

and I'd like to know what to expect.

Thanks

Steve

HI STEVE,

YES I HAD STIFFNESS....WENT DOWN TO 3MG FOR AWHILE...STIFFNESS WENT

AWAY AND NOW BACK ON 4.5MG AGAIN.....CHANGED FILLER TO CALCIUM

CONSENTRATE...THAT MIGHT HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE ALSO.

KEEP US UP TO DATE ON HOW IT WORKS OUT FOR YOU.

No, it doesn't happen to everyone - neither happened to me.. perhaps

it has to do with how one's legs are doing to start with, how spastic

the muscles are, etc.. mine were _really_ spastic the last two years

pretty much without a break.. even the Zanaflex I was taking barely

helped it.

I've been taking LDN since 7/28, and so far the spasticity is pretty

much gone (I stopped taking Zanaflex), my balance is noticibly better

and I just feel 'good' for a change..

I jokingly mentioned to someone in an e-mail that perhaps the reason I

didn't have trouble sleeping was because before starting LDN I was so

darn exhausted all the time :)

Here's hoping for good results for you :)

Take care,

Janis

Leg stiffness is a common issue for people on MS starting on LDN. It most

often is thought to be caused by lactose filler. I had stiffness until I

changed to calcium carbonate filler. I have heard it said that somewhere

around 75% on people with MS may be lactose intolerant. I never had any

troubles with milk, though it did seem to help the short time I always ate

yogurt when taking my LDN.

It is said that if the sleep problems last two weeks then to reduce to 3MG.

Check out the past emails archived on the low dose naltrexone site and also

the SPOTLIGHT LDN site. both are . Both of these subjects

have been written about on these sites.

I say STRETCH, STRETCH, STRETCH! Those muscles are trying to come back to life

and fix themselves. When you feel stiffness, just stand up, stretch out, reach

for the sky, stand on your toes, relax, and repeat a few times.

Steve - My stiffness lasted about 2 wks. starting getting better in wk 3. It was not my filler (cellulose) so, that was not a factor. Now my muscles are looser than they have been in a long time. Even my PT has noticed a big improvement in them. Hang in there.
