Guest guest
TrudySo give that man a big thumbs up from me!! I truly do believe that the caregiver goes through this horrible treatment just about as bad as we do. Try as they might, there is no way of really knowing how we feel. Now, I don't know about your hubby; but, mine was just too stubborn to ask for help for himself. In the end that came back to bite him on his flat ass!!! Even if he'd been able to perhaps talk honestly with a good friend or even in counselling, he might not have festered such a resentment toward me and the disease. For us, what is done is done!! Hopefully your hubby will spend some time talking with either a good friend of his or even your closet friend. That way, he can express that he's angry and even see that he's angry at the disease - not you. This is something that they definitely can not fix and yup, it brings with it a whole new set of emotions and we know what most men do with an emotion!!Sounds like he's helping quite a bit! Plus, I'm still surprised that you have the energy to do Wal-Mart. Actually, not so much when I was doing tx; but, prior to that, we used to have a routine when it came to Wal-Mart. We'd both get a cart. Then, he would head down to the pet food section because that was always too far for me to get to. That way, I could stop in either the make-up section or the pain killers. Since he did all of the cooking, he would know a whole lot better than me what we needed in the house. I'd just go through the food isles to check out what I might want to snack on. Finally, when we would meet up, we would empty out one of the buggies or if it was a large load, we wouldn't even do that.Gloria As very very bad as yesterday was, it also was a Silver Lining. For so many of us strangers to experience the love, support and comfort when we so very needed it! I can't imagine another group of strangers be able to inspire hope while wrapping us all in cyber-hugs. Yes people that have not walked this path cannot understand. And I hope they never do. Friday hubby gave me " the speech". That if I was up moving aabout, the meds could work better and I need to build up my stregnth instead of sleeping and sitting. I did not get mad, I did not try to explain... Hubby can't know better. Yestetday he drove me to walmart and helped every step. Then he cooked dinner. But when I passed out for only seconds and all I was doing is just sitting, I think he got it. He goes to bed around 9 each night . He has a vveryy physical job. He was vacumning the house at 10:30 last night. We bought a new vacumn three weeks ago, but I haven't been able to get it out of the box. hubby understands as much as he can. And he does all out of love. ok now it's Monday. Let's have an awesome week. Or at least, let this week pass quickly.
