Guest guest
" I handle oils carefully. Olive oil is not good to cook with, as it reaches the smoke point at 325 degrees, which means that it emits toxins into the food. It's ok to bake with at 350 degrees or less, because the other ingredients in the recipe keep its temperature down low enough. I use it mainly for salad dressing. For popcorn, over vegetables and in muffin recipes, I use High Oleic safflower or sunflower seed oils. (High in monounsaturates like olive oil.) I don't ever cook with flax oil. It has a very low smoke point. I add it to my protein or lemon drink in the morning and sometimes use it as a salad dressing. I use High Oleic safflower or sunflower seed oils to saute with, as they can be heated to higher temperatures. " I got this quote on a woman's web site who has MS and has been on the Best bet Diet for many years, here is her site address: http://ourworld.cs.com/cah819/mythsveg.htm, . She uses flax seed oil but many people can't use it, i can't use it, it makes my stomach hurt and gives me gas too and makes me feel bad, so I use olive oil and high oleic safflower oil. we should't eat saturated fats, any fat that is solid at room tmperture, such as butter, margarine, bacon grease, fat that is in beef, or other meats. I hope this helps.
