Spread the word in NJ...

Also, anyone know how to actually notify the a-champ folks of this? Their

contact page is completely USELESS (any a-champ folks out there please fix

this. It's been this way for a long time). We need an action alert ASAP on

this one.

Urgent; NJ State mtg. on Friday to add 4 shots to NJ

The NJ Department of Health is at it again. Last year they attempted to add

prevnar and flu shots to the mandatory schedule. They are trying is again

but they also want menigococcal and Hep A. They also intend to revisit the

state religious exemption provisions. This can't be good either.

A meeting will be held of stakeholders (!?) on Friday, Aug. 18 in

Mercerville: My understanding is this is not a public meeting. An invitation

letter went

out. See text below.

Fortunately, Governor Corzine is richer than just about everybody so he may

not be completely beholden to Pharma money, so we may have a little leverage

with him.

Last year we stopped this, but we had far more lead time. Immediate action

is needed.

I urge you to do the following:

First email me about your availablity to discuss a joint statement, or

prepare a statement of your own and distribute as widely as possibly within

NJ, the

NJ media and the vaccine rights and autism communities.

Alert your networks/members in New Jersey to do the call the Governor and

their State Senator and State Representative, and urge them to stop this

plan

immediately. And demand a full investigation into the the safety and

efficacy of

each individual vaccine and their cumulative effects. Demand the

investigations be conducted with public participation and investigators with

no financial,

instititutional or professional interests in the outcome of the

investigation. Demand public hearings. Demand the right by NJ citizens to

refuse any and

all vaccines for themselves and their children.

Call your local State Senator and State Representative.

Write to Eddy Bresnitz (see below) and ask to attend the meeting

Consider showing up at the meeting on Aug 18th and bringing the press with

you

Spread this message far and wide.

Subject: Opportunity to Provide Input into Draft Rules of NJAC 8:57-4

Immunization of Pupils in School

The Vaccine Preventable Disease Program (VPDP) has drafted revisions to NJAC

8:57-4 that we plan to implement in September 2007. In addition to several

amendments to existing rules, the proposal also adds four new vaccines to

the

list of mandated vaccines for children to receive as a condition to enter or

continue attendance in school or a licensed child care center.

The Department is holding a Stakeholders meeting on August 18, 2006, a the

New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, 3635 Quakerbridge Road,

Mercerville, NJ, Conference Room C from 10:00am to 12:00pm. The purpose of

the

meeting is to obtain input from key health care professionals and other

affected constituents regarding the draft public health rules. I am

respectfully

requesting your attendance at this meeting, which will take place prior to

the

formal submission of the rule before the New Jersey Public Health Council.

This

is your opportunity to provide input into the draft rule.

I am including an agenda and directions with this letter so that you will

get an idea of the topics that will be discussed during this meeting. A copy

of

the proposed rules will be forwarded to you under separate cover. Please

come

prepared to share your questions, comments or suggested edits to the draft

rules. If you are unable to attend, please send an appropriate

representative and

RSVP by August 11, 2006 by calling 609-588-7520.

Immunization is one of the most effective public health interventions. The

NJACX 8:57-4 rule, will have an impact on how New Jersey addresses this

critically important health and issue.

Sincerely,

Eddy Bresnitz

Deputy Commissioner/State Epidemiologist

Public Health Service
