Guest guest
Does anyone know of anyone taking LDN and Avonex? I know it's ok with Copaxone, but is there anyone on it with Avonex? I sent an email to the ldn website and the answer I got was that LDN just can't be taken a narcotic and who says it can't be taken with Avonex. I don't understand this. Guest guest
The injectables are an entirely different approach to MS. They suppress the immune system. With LDN you are trying to wake it up. So LDN and Avonex will not hurt but one may cancel the benefit of the other, and obviously there is not enough data on LDN alone, let alone LDN with anything else (except maybe narcotics). All we have are the experiences of current and past LDN users and their doctors. Copaxone is the same as Avonex from that point of view but it is not an interferon, for whatever that's worth. My neurologist said I was SPMS and unlikely to get any more benefit from these drugs (though she was willing to try copaxone since I had not been on it yet). Guest guest
My MS became SP while I was taking Copaxone. The way it was progressing I would likely be on disability by now if I had not found LDN. The best I can tell none of the CRAB drugs do anything for progression. Guest guest
Hi Larry, Wow, I thought avonex and LDN didn't work well together. I'm glad it's working for you. I quit Avonex all together and then began LDN months later. I was not getting better on the Avonex, as a matter of fact I was getting worse. Since on LDN, I have not progressed, just improved. I wonder if my being a female had an effect on my body's reaction to the Avonex? Anyway, I'm glad the LDN is helping you. God Bless, Penny (the cheese) > I have been on avonex for several years and on LDN for 5 months. Since the LDN, I have fewer bladder spasms and no longer take detrol. I am not worse in any way. I figure that if no one really knows what causes MS, no one really knows what cures, or improves, MS. So, I will continue to take both LDN and Avonex until my body tells me not to. What would I be doing if I'd stopped the Avonex when I started the LDN? I don't know, but I have a hard time believing that I would be that much better. > Kansas
