Guest guest
It leaves out ethylmercury (mentions methylmercury) but then we cannot expect medical journals to be THAT truthful. Jagannath. http://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140673606696657/abstract?i\ seop=true The Lancet Early Online Publication, 8 November 2006 The Lancet DOI:10.1016/S0140-6736(06)69665-7 Developmental neurotoxicity of industrial chemicals Dr, Prof P Grandjean MD a b and Prof PJ Landrigan MD c d Summary Neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, attention deficit disorder, mental retardation, and cerebral palsy are common, costly, and can cause lifelong disability. Their causes are mostly unknown. A few industrial chemicals (eg, lead, methylmercury, polychlorinated biphenyls [PCBs], arsenic, and toluene) are recognised causes of neurodevelopmental disorders and subclinical brain dysfunction. Exposure to these chemicals during early fetal development can cause brain injury at doses much lower than those affecting adult brain function. Recognition of these risks has led to evidence-based programmes of prevention, such as elimination of lead additives in petrol. Although these prevention campaigns are highly successful, most were initiated only after substantial delays. Another 200 chemicals are known to cause clinical neurotoxic effects in adults. Despite an absence of systematic testing, many additional chemicals have been shown to be neurotoxic in laboratory models. The toxic effects of such chemicals in the developing human brain are not known and they are not regulated to protect children. The two main impediments to prevention of neurodevelopmental deficits of chemical origin are the great gaps in testing chemicals for developmental neurotoxicity and the high level of proof required for regulation. New, precautionary approaches that recognise the unique vulnerability of the developing brain are needed for testing and control of chemicals. After all, they (the pro-vaccine lobbyists) say to themselves, you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs. But the eggs being broken are small, helpless, and innocent babies, while the omelette is being enjoyed by the pediatricians and vaccine manufacturers. - L. Guest guest
It certainly seems that we are seeing a fresh wave of tuna mercury stuff. But tuna mercury has been around a long time. Coal was the primary source of fuel that spawned the industrial revolution. Towns, cities and villages used to be blackened by coal soot. Where was the autism? Canned tuna has been consumed for a very long time. Charlie the Tuna is a household name. There's nothing statistical to suggest that Charlie is responsible for the autism epidemic. Brubacher 2005 at least indicates that ethylmercury is more volatile and therefore more neurotoxic than methylmercury. Before this study the misguided consensus was it can't possibly hit the brain because it vanishes from the blood meaning it leaves the body. Now that a handful of lab coats have shown that thimerosal-mercury does enter the brain and dissolves/decays there leaving significantly high concentrations of bad mercury the mantra switched to " well it's not enough " . The problem is we parents have had enough. The one's needing over-accommodations to over-come their dubiously raw doubts are the same ones controlling the research dollars and also more than likely have caused the problem due to their scientific brain deficits and/or commercial enterprises. Why is it the best that these autism charities and their drug company parent groups...the big thinkers can't develop the guts and brains to support thimerosal and vaccine research? Folks we can't allow these so called groups to harness our energy because as we saw with the horrible CAA bill they strongly resent any sense of a vaccine connection plugged into the autism epidemic. I really feel that we parents need to remain unbridled speaking out of our children and future generations of children. We can go a lot farther than just getting the stupid stuff banned. [ ] Lancet admits methylmercury can cause autism. It leaves out ethylmercury (mentions methylmercury) but then we cannot expect medical journals to be THAT truthful. Guest guest
Jagannath, Although ethylmercury isn't mentioned in the abstract, it is listed among 200 other chemicals as " known to be neurotoxic in man " in a side bar in the actual article. > > It leaves out ethylmercury (mentions methylmercury) but then we cannot expect medical journals to be THAT truthful.
