Guest guest
Alpha Lipoic Acid, at 600mg a day helps some. Here is a LONG list of supplements my wife takes to counter the effects of her current drug (Velcade) and a " base " of PN from Thalidomide. This is from the Dana Farber Cancer Institue Boston Ma. (Harvard) These are NOT two separate regimens. DFCI suggests that you do take all the vitamins and all the amino acids and related compounds. (This would be everything on the first page.) The prescription meds on page two would be used if the over-the-counter products don't work. It seems like a large amount of stuff, and some at higher doses than I had heard about before, but it works. VELCADE- NEUROPATHY TREATMENTS VITAMINS - Always take with food MULTI-B COMPLEX VITAMIN (with rda B6, B1 and B12 -AT LEAST 400 MCGS) FOLIC ACID (Folate) 1 to 2 mg VITAMIN B6 (IN ADDITION TO ABOVE) 50mg in AM, 100mg in PM MAGNESIUM 250MG twice a day (may cause diarrhea in large doses) POTASSIUM 2 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar Bananas, Oranges VITAMIN E 400 IU DAILY AMINO ACIDS AND RELATED COMPOUNDS- can be obtained at Health Food Stores or Bread and Circus supermarkets. Take with food. L- CARNITINE*** 500mg twice a day can take up to 2000mg a day ALPHA-LIPOIC ACID 400mg to 600mg a day L-GLUTAMINE Start with UP TO 10gms a day for 1 week (if tolerated) Then 1 gram up to three times a day *** - may be available as prescription in Europe MEDICATIONS - Prescription needed NEURONTIN (gabapentin) Start with 100mg three times a day. Gradually work up to 600mg three times a day. Can go as high as 2700mg total dose with Physician permission. Neurontin comes in 100mg and 300mg pills. IMIPRAMINE 25-50mg at bedtime ZOLOFT(Sertraline) 50-100 mg at bedtime MISCELLANEOUS TONIC WATER (quinine in seltzer water) Drink one glass in evening and any other time cramping occurs CAPSAICIN CREAM (over the counter in drugstore) Apply to fingers or toes and feet one to three times a day COCOA BUTTER (rich in vit E and other natural emollients) Apply to affected areas twice a day as part of gentle massage -----Original Message----- From: Braun Doherty [mailto:BD@...] Sent: Monday, October 20, 2003 3:18 PM LDN Group; Spotlight - LDN Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Nitrates??? Hello, all- I having been taking LDN since May 2003 and have been slowly improving. After changing fillers from lactose to cc to liquid, I thought I finally found my answer. But now I am having extremely bad neuropathy and numbness has increased tremendously up my legs. But I am not sure if it's the LDN or nitrates. I seem to always have a bad relapse when I eat any kind of nitrate (especially hot dogs). I usually don't eat them anymore but I recently had one at a party because I was starving. Has anyone else out there had any similar experiences??? I just can't believe a single hot dog can do this to a person, but it's the only connection I can find for my relapses over the past 4 years of my diagnosis. Not that I am symptom free when I avoid them, but I definitely feel a little better, can't wear normal shoes yet though. Only slides, otherwise my feet feel like they are being crushed. Can't wear socks either. Also, anyone ever had IVIG treatments??? Did it help?? I heard it can help with neuropathy. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Guest guest
Hi I can beleive that something could bother you that bad. I found that I am allergic to a lot of foods. One in particular is sugar and anytime that I eat sugar, I have serious problems. My body starts jumping inside and I get headaches or a strange feeling in my head. Guest guest
Good morning, Don: Is the Zoloft used for anything other than an anti-depressant that can create suicidal tendencies?
