Parents and Friends of Children Injured by Mercury in Vaccines

As elected and appointed officials, it is your duty and obligation to keep

the citizens of the United States safe. The Advisory Committee for Immunization

Practices (ACIP) is meeting today in Atlanta at the CDC. Outside the meeting

parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, teachers, friends, and autism

organizations have gathered to remind the

ACIP members that they need to recommend to the CDC that it state a clear

preference for thimerosal-free vaccines.

Take Note of the following facts that support our request:

1. There was a glaring lack of safety studies completed prior to the 1930's

marketing of thimerosal as a vaccine preservative;

2. Toxicity and Ineffectiveness is evident in the documentary track-record of

thimerosal;

3. Mercury exposure resulting from thimerosal-containing vaccine

administration produces mercury levels associated with the occurrent of adverse

outcomes;

4. Exposure to mercury at levels contained in vaccines exposes the brain to

mercury resulting in longlasting mercury toxicity in sensitive brain cells;

5. U.S policy is outpaced by global vaccine policy and violates the Institute

of Medicine’s 2001 recommendations that mercury should be removed from

vaccines;

6. ACIP's failure to state a preference for mercury-free vaccines undermines

public confidence in the National Immunization Program.

The Thimerosal Material Safety Data Sheet contains the following:

a. Danger of cumulative effects.

b. Pregnant women should not be exposed to the product.

c. Evidence of reproductive effects.

d. Very toxic by inhalation, in contact with skin and if swallowed.

e. Mercury poisoning may occur.

f. Exposure in children may cause mild to severe mental retardation.

g. WARNING: This product contains a chemical(s) known to the State of

California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm.

h. May be fatal if absorbed.

i. Discard in biohazardous waste for proper disposal.

At the CDC's Simpsonwood meeting on June 7-8, 2000 in Georgia the Vaccine

Safety Datalink analysis of thimerosal-containing vaccines and

neurodevelopmental outcomes were reviewed by a panel of experts.

Key Simpsonwood participants made the following comments as reported in the

minutes of the meeting:

Dr. Verstraeten: “...we have found statistically significant relationships

between the exposures and outcomes for these different exposures and outcomes. "

Dr. : " I think I want that (my) grandson to only be given

Thimerosal-free vaccines. "

Dr. Verstraeten: ... " mercury at one month of age is not the same as mercury

at three months, at 12 months, prenatal mercury, later mercury. There is a

whole range of plausible outcomes from mercury. "

Dr. Weil: " The number of dose related relationships are linear and

statistically significant. You can play with this all you want. They are

linear. They are statistically significant. "

Dr. Clements: " perhaps this study should not have been done at all, because

the outcome of it could have, to some extent, been predicted, and we have all

reached this point now where we are left hanging. "

We, the families of vaccine-injured " autistic " children, are still hanging...

It is time for CDC to do their mission as stated: To promote health and

quality of life by preventing and controlling disease, injury, and disability.

Remove thimerosal and stop the injury and disability it causes.
