Guest guest
But Duncan, whenever i have high acidity in the stomach and heartburns, i take a tablespoon of lemon juice and it works almost immediately. I don't know the explanation to that, but i started doing it because i read it in one of the websites on health. It is at least better than alkaseltzers. BTW, i was taking the lemon juice by tablespoons for several days, and the results of my blood test showed " high alkaline " . Is that good or bad, i don't know. Apple cider vinegar too is high in alkaline. > > That's not exactly true, ; The " alkaline ash foods " like any others must be digested and the alkalizing minerals in them absorbed into the blood and joined with aspartic and then orotic acids for entry into the cells. The whole process relies on three mechanisms excluding the stomach. Although the statements are widely forwarded, I don't know how vinegar or lemon juice can contain enough ash to perform as an alkalizer so to this day I still hesitate to recommend them for that purpose. Guest guest
I have done lots of dipstick testing, and the food that creates alkalinity for me more than any other is radishes. Any kind - daikon, red, black, white, it doesn't seem to matter. Radishes are very cleansing of old fats in the body also, and soothing to the kidneys. Lemon stimulates the acidic digestive fire of the stomach - the high acidity in your stomach may be an overshoot mechanism by the body when it doesn't have enough digestive strength. The sour taste particularly benefits the liver; so sour food like lemon is a great liver cleanse. I start every day with a squirt of lemon - it has a very strong impact on my immunity.
