Guest guest
Sara, My neurologist said basically the same thing about Milk and diabetes and MS. Basically what it came down to was he didn¡Çt think there was a link. I have to agree. Even though I¡Çm not a dr. or a scientists its seems to me that MS as well as other autoimmune diseases are a caused by a combination of factors. Genetics: meaning a flaw in a gene. Environmental: meaning either a virus and or chemical can be the cause. I personally feel that it¡Çs a combination of all of the above. You have a bad or defective gene, come in contact with a virus that lays dormant in your body then something like a chemical or environmental thing like pollution or fumes, something, sets it off. son Owner/ operator Friends with MS.com -----Original Message----- From: [mailto:lvlail_lvle@...] Sent: Thursday, November 27, 2003 4:34 PM To: low dose naltrexone Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Fantastic News Today I had a follow up with my neuro and I am coming off the study meds. I asked for LDN and he went right ahead and wrote it up! I had explained to him that I know the info is anecdotal and it's not an " approved MS treatment " took in a bunch of information which in the end he didn't even ask to see. It turns out he has written scripts for others already and said " I wish they'd just do a study on it already. " So not that I know he will definately write a script for everyone out there but Dr. O'Connor did write me one and has for a few others. Also I would like to add I told him I was looking at diet and I told him I had read the info on Diabetes and MS that he had worked on with Dr. Dosch and he said unfortunately the information on milk is hard to substantiate as a factor in MS as it is in the more economically powerful nations and if you had it as televisions or some such thing the information from Dr. Embry's graph regarding MS and Milk would look the same... However, he did say if he had MS he would be following the Best Bet Diet as well. So just thought all may be interested in that information. P.S. Thanks again Steve aka sparkins from MS Watch.ca for turning me on to this, let's hope it works as well for me as it has for so many others here! I still have to come off the study meds and may have issues I guess with Tylenol #3 apo-maproxen and the LDN but we shall see! And Happy Turkey Day to you all Americans!
