Guest guest
Hello, all- I have been taking LDN since May 2003 every night religiously. Started with the lactose filler, then calcium carbonate. I saw some improvement but it wasn't enough for me. Now I take the liquid and am able to adjust the amount better. I can definitely see improvement now. But tonight I am going to the Bruce Springsteen concert, will probably have some beers and get home very late. Should I take my LDN at around 2 or 3am after a few drinks? Or should I skip it tonight? Whaddya think?? maxbtm wrote: Hi Charlie, I have no clues but my sister preferred to stop drinking at dinnertime. (Not strictly but she tries). She thinks it was making a difference when she was at 3.5mg. Now she takes 4.5mg and we don't know…. I guess it wont hurt but probably some alcohol neutralise some LDN. So, within some extends, the two things cancel each other. This is just our impression and I never heard of anyone else reporting this. > i was wondering what effect alcohol has on ldn. for example, say a > person comes home from a wedding reception at 2:00 a.m.after drinking > alcohol and takes his 3 mg ldn capsule-will it still work? or should > you just skip taking it for that night? > > just wondering, > charlie
Guest guest
, It is my understanding that alcohol does not inhibit the effectiveness of LDN in any way. It is the LDN that slightly lessens the effects of alcohol when alcohol is used in moderation. (You might just have to work a bit harder to get drunk!) I would just take your LDN as normal-or when you get home. Hope this helps Have a great time! in Australia ----- Original Message ----- From: Braun Doherty Cc: low dose naltrexone ; Spotlight - LDN Sent: Saturday, October 04, 2003 1:15 AM Subject: [low dose naltrexone] alcohol and ldn Hello, all- I have been taking LDN since May 2003 every night religiously. Guest guest
CAROL - take care!! everything does not react the same with everybody!! we are told that LDN eliminates the effects of ultram for pain relief. it did the opposite in my system - the effects were exacerbated - DRUGGED!!! i was too high, literally, to keep my eyes open. could have slept for days. good thing i didn't like the effects; because who knows what this would have led to?? marshiris@... Guest guest
It is not a problem with the LDN. Remember Low Dose does the opposite as High Dose. Guest guest
> Does anyone have experience with drinking (socially, not heavily) and > alcohol? Please advise. I only take LDN for 24 days; but I use to have now and then a beer or a glass of red wine. I haven't notice any difference.

Please advise. > > Carol ***************************************************************** Carol, IN ALL HONESTY....... Yes, I must confess (I just feel the need to get this " out there " ). You might say that I am " more " than a " social " drinker, unfortunately. Even worse than wondering if my " habit " affects my body's response to LDN.....is that drinking alcohol is a " pain in my .... Gut. " (I have Crohn's disease which is an autoimmune (digestive) disorder.) [insert " Don't drink alcohol " lecture here...]. I can say that I have gotten incredible results (relief from symptoms) since I have been on LDN for 25 days now, even though I have had cocktails about every night. I know, I know.....this is not good (drinking) but for now....it seems that alcohol consumption has not " stopped " the LDN from working, for ME anyway. I am working to " correct " this " habit, " but for now I would have to say, ...... " It is what it is.... " . Don't listen to me...listen to the LDN veterans. I know that THEY know best! Guest guest
I just got back from Jamaica, spent a week in an all inclusive, and in typical male fashion was intent on getting my moneys worth of sun, sea and sybarism. Can't say I noticed that all the drinks hurt me or that I had any additional side effects but we all know booze is bad on multiple levels over the long haul and one shouldnt need to get intoxicated to have a good time. DO NOT DRINK IF TAKING TYLENOL/ACETOMINOPHEN products or anything else significantly hepatotoxic. I did take increased Vit C which acts as a hangover preventative in larger doses if taken before imbibing. Among things claimed to increase endorphins is sun exposure so I recommend it for myself, and noted even before starting LDN or even the Enbrel that the sun made me feel better. Don't hate me... red pill ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ You rock. Guest guest
That question comes up all the time, most recently less than 2 weeks ago. The consensus is that with most people it makes absolutely no difference. I have the occasional glass or two of red wine and can't say I've ever noticed anything different to before I started on LDN. See low dose naltrexone/msearch?query=alcohol & sub\ mit=Search PS Could you please trim off old, irrelevant posts before posting? :-) Carol wrote: > > Does anyone have experience with drinking (socially, not heavily) and > alcohol?
