hello my name is shirl. my nephew is 9 years old and suffers from

autism. just to give you a lil run down...he was born preemie 1

pound and 10 ounces, 4 months early. so he spent ALOT of time in

nicu. he is not supposed to be alive today. but he is and he is a

miracle. i hope my families story will encourage someone and not to

ever give up hope. when Jhonny finally came home we knew there was

something wrong but had no clue to what it was. eventually a docter

tested him and said he was autistic. we had no idea what he was

talking about. we just knew that this kid was 3 years old not

walking...talking....feeding himself or using the potty. through

extensive therapy and the right school i am very happy to tell you

that he is walking(he took his first steps at 4 1/2 years old!) my

sister went threw you know what trying to find somebody to help her.

she enrolled him in a special needs class thinking that may help.

because she didnt understand the codition he had. well that was a

disaster...he got kicked out....because he went off!! and you all

know what that means....destructo!!! we set out as a family to find

something for him...and we found it....and guess what....he is 10

years old soon to be eleven...READING, WRITING, TALKING EXCELLENT!!!

HE IS A MIRACLE. those docs told us if he did live he would be a

vegatable!! THANK GOD THEY ARE WRONG....SO DONT EVER GIVE UP....

JUST KEEP UP YOUR HOPE AND FAITH.....THAT IS WHAT WE DID AND HAVE A

WONDERFUL LIL BOY!!! OH AND HE IS ON NO MEDS!!!!!@!! he still shows

signs of autism....and always will......but i know my family thanks

God everyday that he will someday have a decent life. I hope this

helps someone!!!! Shirl
