Guest guest
Found this on the Colorodo Healthsite Questions. At least they are honest about answering. Question: I have been reading about LDN (low dose naltrexone) and am wondering what your feelings are on this, or if you are familiar with it. It sounds very interesting, but I am a little leary of things that are a bit out of the "mainstream". Answer: The use of naltrexone has not been well studied in MS so we cannot give you exact information as to whether it is beneficial or harmful or neither. If you read the web site, however, it states that it is an immune system stimulant and is used in patients with AIDs. If you think about MS, you know that the immune system is OVER active (increased production of t cells) especially with exacerbations. Theoretically, then, taking something that boosts the immune system would be counter productive. But, since this hasn't been studied, we cannot say this for sure.
