,

He has no mercury amalgam fillings. We knew about those dangers because he was

diagnosed with chemical sensitivity at age 2. At night, I have been waiting 4

hours with the dosing (only two times at night to go four hours instead of

three) of the ala/dmsa combo.

Today the eyelids are swollen and infected. I am giving him echinachea...but I

need to get him better in two days because he is planning on going to a LAHN

party (leaving the house!!) and this LAHN party is in two days. I just figured

out that it is not from Friday night 5pm to 8pm. It is Friday night from 5pm to

SAturday night at 8 pm-so 28 hours. Now I am freaking out.

His friend is going with him, who drives, and has ADHD. I said I would drive

them though, and stay for a while, then come back the next day maybe. I told his

friend that I was concerned about leaving child #1 (17 years old) at the LAHN

party all night, because although he is excellent with video games, he is so

gullible that he might go off with a stranger who offered him candy (a small

exageration, but my deepest fear none the less that he will so easily just get

into any kind of trouble). His friend said that he would keep an eye on him,

but his friend is forgetful and not completely dependable (hasn't done what he

says he's going to do when he says he's going to do it/doesn't return things he

borrows in a timely manner). What would you other parents do??? I could stay

the entire time or stay for a while on Friday night/come back on Saturday....it

is at a hotel, so we could get a hotel room there, stay there, and bring tons of

food. Make it kind of a family event maybe, so we could supervise, but not seem

too hovering....

It will be exciting because not only is he leaving the house, but he is leaving

the house for the longest time ever. Any suggestions for making this a success?

I guess because of the infection and the LAHN, we could skip a round...but if I

get a hotel and I am there, I could keep him on a round if his eyes get better.

ok...so last night I put in some homeopathic eye drops and he would only let me

do one eye because it freaked him out. I said " open your eyes " .

Then, I asked him to wash his hands and he did it himself, and I showed him how

to clean out his nails, and he did it himself. I said not to touch his eyes

and rub them with the dirty hands or it would make the eyes worse. I was

feeling very happy that he completed these two skills. Then comes the morning

where he told me that he had kept his eyes open and not shut them, on purpose

all night long, because he thought I had meant that keeping his eyes open would

help, because I said " open your eyes " when I put the eye drops in.

What is this called....this literal thinking...I feel awful. Is there a name for

this line of thinking where everything is so literal?

Literal thinking. Reminds me of the scene in Rainman where he stopped in the

middle of the street when the traffic light changed to " Don't Walk " .
