Guest guest
, many thanks for your reply. My doctor thought that alpha lipoic acid and glutathione would help accelerate the healing of my leaky gut. I have made some progress in this direction due to taking many specific amino acids and vitamins/supplements that where either deficient or non existent due to malnutrition (identified by lab tests from Great Smokies Diagnostic and serious weight loss). I am also following the SCD program and it has been a real blessing for me. One of my original problems has been the many years of misdiagnosis by GI doctors and the consequent unfortunate delay in stopping the gut damage. Last year I also found out that most likely I have the Celiac disease (clinical diagnosis and my obvious symptoms or reactions to any grain product. , I have not thought about the teeth fillings being a contributor to my gut problems!! Now if I can just find a dentist in my town (San , Texas) who knows how to remove the amalgam fillings. Best wishes, Sam. RE: [ ] Use of Alpha Lipoic Aciid Do not use Alpha Lipoic Acid in any form while you have mercury amalgam dental fillings in place. Is the doc thinking ALA would help with leaky gut? What else have you tried for the leaky gut? How's your diet? For what it's worth the mercury in your dental fillings is probably playing a role in the leaky gut. S S My doctor has suggested that I start using alpha lipoic acid (in cream form
due to my leaky gut situation). It seems that I read somewhere, either on
this email list or another, that if you have amalgam filling in one or more
teeth (I have a mouth full), one should not take the alpha lipoic acid.

Any suggestions and information about the above comment, would be very much
appreciated. Guest guest
Celiac diagnoses are often given by people who don't know that mercury poisoning leads to gut damage and problems with digesting gluten and casein.
