Guest guest
Hi Pam, It's just very discouraging when these people you trust for these decisions are so careless. Woman there just grabbed cat out of my hands, upseting the cat which had not been any place but one time only and I was with him whole time. Apparently he was difficult to handle after that and when I came to pick him up they had put him into a cardboard box, instead of a cage since they said they were afraid of him, he was acting up. Well, I wasn't surprised. Kitty felt he was taken away from me, unwillingly, as she grabbed him from me (while I was still ambivalent about all the shots). I stepped back as she approached me to get cat and asked could I put him in cage myself since he had never been any place like that before. She said no and grabbed him, obviously in a hurry. However, why not? That way cat would have known I wanted him there. He had been neutered that day too and they told me to wait all day until he was fully woken up before picking him up so he was all day in cardboard box (not cardboard carrier). I was furious. I've had cats neutered at home with vets that will come to house, then I watch the cat myself until cat is fully awake. No reason I couldn't have taken him home and watched him at home. There is such a strong tendency in hospitals and vet clinic to treat patient and family of patient as if they are complete incompetent idiots. I called earlier to see if I could come and pick him up and they said no, told me to come at end of day. You would think at that time they could have told me they were having difficulty, and I could have come and gotten him. I need to more assertive. It's an ongoing project to get more assertive. When I didn't like the grabbing part and wasn't sure of shots, I should have taken him home. Live and learn. Of course after that time, getting him into the car means crying begins immediately. I will look into titers. Thanks for the tip. --- noaholiviaian <phaselow@...> wrote: > If you have time to research options, I've been > able to find several > cat 'kennels' that allow titers (proof of > immunity) in place of > vaccinations.
