Guest guest
I am such an idiot! I accidentally gave my son 1 capsule which has 100 mg of calcium and 100 mg of magnesium after what I think was considered a " challenge test " and the box says no minerals 1 day before/during/after. Well I didn't notice the after. Is there anything I need to do in the mean time? Thanks! Jana
Guest guest
Jana, I can't offer any help for your current question but please don't do any more challenges. They're harmful (due to the the high, single dose, and don't provide accurate, useful info. Guest guest
Thanks. The dr I went to ordered a number of tests, stools, neurotransmitters, amino acids, etc. I didn't realize that this was a challenge test until I started reading these boards. I don't know if the dose was considered high, but it was a pre-test, a post test using one provoking agent and another post using a different provoking agent. Why would a DAN dr. do this? Guest guest
If anything the minerals was a good thing. Maybe not for his test but for him. The challenge test will pull out minerals he needed. Normally during chelation you give minerals anyway, so I am not sure why they tell you not to give them after the test. Likely the chelator pulled some of his cal and mag, and you would want to replace that. I wouldn't worry if it will affect the test result or not. DAN! docs order challenge tests to see if there are metals present. Most do not realize that these tests are dangerous and the information is not useful. All it will show is that he is passing metals. This does not help in diagnosing how much he has already, what is stored in his body etc. So many do it for insurance purposes of proving that metals are comming out. However, hair testing is a safe way and accurate refelction of body metals. -- In , Jana Lively <jlivelypdd@...> wrote: > > Thanks.
