Guest guest
Terri, I feel your pain and frustration. I too had about 5 fillings replaced while I was breast feeding my son. I am convinced that the mercury he got in my breastmilk as well as the mercury from immunizations is what has caused his health problems. I don't believe it is our job to educate dentists, however, you may be able to plant the seed of awareness in this dentist and possibly prevent this from happening to another family. I would talk to the dentist. I wouldn't accuse her, or be angry. If it were me, I would calmly talk about mercury and how harmful it is especially to infants and children. You may direct her to Andy's website or books. You could also direct her to generation rescue's website or other autism websites that believe in the mercury autism connection. I guess I would look at it as an opportunity to possibly prevent autism from happening to another family. > > I just canceled my cleaning appt w/ my old dentist. Guest guest
Terri, I feel your frusturation. I know it seems easier to keep quiet, but some dentists honestly don't have a clue, and once clued in change the way they practice. Even if you never set foot in that office, I would send some information to them. Tell them to contact DAMS.INC. they provide great info on the dangers of amalgams. Don't be afraid to advocate for what is right and what should not have happend. Otherwise that uninformed dentist will continue to practice in the dark and do this to more people. Rememeber, the ADA does not tell dentist any of what we know. Direct her to the internet, tell her that a few minutes of searching under amalgam poisoning will let her know what is going on. Countries such as sweden have banned the use of amalgam. And in CA they have to inform you that amalgams contain mercury which is a health risk. You can provide some information without " implicating the dentist " . I can tell you I have told a few off in my day. They work for you! I actually refused to pay one dentist's bill, and sent him a long explanation why. There are others in the country persuing lawsuits on amalgam damage. Check the internet. I thought of suing my dentist but I don't have the means, so I spend my time writing letters to change laws. > > > > I just canceled my cleaning appt w/ my old dentist.
