Hi all,

I posted a similar message to Owens but haven't heard back yet and

wanted to get your thoughts on this. Based on 's email about biotin and

ALA sharing a pathway, I was wondering if biotin can also block the excretion of

copper. I have been giving Abi biotin (5000mcg/day) to help with yeast problems

and was going to start giving it to Isaac as well. The kids and I all have

increased copper (Abi's went from 17 to 230!) on recent hair tests and I am

trying to figure out if it is current exposure or body stores being released.

Do ALA/biotin and copper all share a pathway? Could giving her biotin for a

while have caused her copper to go up because she can't excrete it that well

while on the biotin? Am I way off here? Is there any other way to bring copper

down besides increasing zinc & molybdenum? What have others used successfully

to reduce copper? Thanks in advance for your thoughts and feedback.

Hi

We have the opposite problem (can't hang on to copper to save our life

in this family). My son gets nosebleeds when I introduce new supps

that lower copper, and the most recent offender has been taurine, so

you might want to add or increase that :-).
