Guest guest
Hi Sherry, You may want to pose your question in my " LDN_For_Cancer " group at ldnforcancer/ Some of the members there also have dogs that are taking LDN for cancer, and their experience could provide valuable input. With best wishes, Dudley Delany dudley_delany [low dose naltrexone] Dog on LDN I have had my dog on LDN for two nights now. She seems to have more pain. She is a very stoic dog and for her to 'exhibit' pain has me very concerned. She has never been fed grains - her diet is home made or raw. There isn't much to choose from for pain management for dogs. I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I am going to start and wean her totally of the prednisilone - she is on 10mg two times per day, which is OK according to my vet and Skip. There is rimadyl to give dogs for pain, but it does not go well with the pred (can cause stomach bleeding) AND it is not good for the liver. I am hoping that she is just going through the initial 'getting used to' period. She continues to eat and is barking at the bunnies and squirrels, but is clearly uncomfortable - and being kidney cancer, I am wondering if that isn't even more painful. She never has been on any pain meds, so it isn't that she is missing that medication - I think the LDN may be exacerbating her pain. Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions for pain management, please let me know. I can't let her suffer - can I???? I know she has cancer, I know there is an adjustment period.
