Guest guest
Martha, It sounds to me like you may have been at the beginning of an exacerbation when you started on LDN.....or maybe you have a UTI, which can cause some of your old symptoms to crop up. Dr. Bahari also said that old symptoms can crop up at the beginning of ldn but it is tempory. So, I would deffinately give LDN more time. Do check with Dr. to make sure you don't have an infection going on....dbl up on your cranberry capsules. I had a UTI in the middle of my 6 mos. on LDN, and was ready to quit ldn, but, got rid of UTI and everything improved. Never had an exacerbation, it just gets worse. In my case LDN worked within a few days. Every night I count the number of steps I can do before grabbing hold of something. Before LDN I was averaging 80 steps. This went up to about 120 when I first took LDN. However, after a few weeks it was not helping so I took a break. After the break it started working again. I now take LDN for ten days and then have a two day break. That way it keeps helping. I don't think this intermittent protocol works with people who have RRMS. LDN boosts your endorphins. People with MS have low endorphin T-Cells. LDN boosts these endorphins & until your body's T-Cells regulate, you may experience some uncomfortable feelings of burning, numbness, weakness, pain, stiffness, etc... Insomnia in the early days on LDN is common. Just ride out these symptoms. It's an indication that LDN is regulating your T-Cells. Each person is different so the increase in symptoms may last longer in some than others. The numbness in my hands lasted 2 weeks. Now starting my 4th month on LDN I switched my filler to Calcium Carbonate from Lactose. Much of my stiffness has gone away since making this switch. Filler is calcium carbonate, and I don't have stiffness. Sleep issues are resolved. After two months, it seems as if I'd be out of the " early days. " It feels as if the MS is progressing.
