I don't know anything about that vax, but for my kids, I increased their immune system with lots of vitamin C [required], astralagus root, and colostrum. Then I gave anti-virals: olive leaf extract and Virastop enzyme. They have not been sick in a year. As an aside, it seems strange to me, to inject a child with a vaccine that contains 23 viruses, if the child's immune system already can't handle the viruses it encounters every day. How is that supposed to help him handle viruses? It seems it would overwhelm his immune system even more than it already is. Guest guest
What about giving him some immune boosters (echinacea, astragalus, etc.)? Anita's anti-viral file in the files section has some great information on these. Anne > > I'm posting this message for a friend who has a child on the > spectrum. Guest guest
I would carefully read the pneumovax insert (you can find it on the web) I think the drug co says that it is only safe to give twice in a lifetime - you know based on their " safety studies " . > > I'm posting this message for a friend who has a child on the > spectrum. Guest guest
I refused this vaccine for my kids. It is just as nasty as any other vaccine. One might ask " why he has a problem with viruses " , he didn't get that way by getting all those viruses naturally. I have not seen convincing evidence that this vaccine works either. Many kids actually get sick after getting it. It does contain aluminum and all those other nasty chemicals. Mercury free vaccines are still made using mercury, which is then claimed to be removed before the final product. Assaulting this child's already burdened immune system with a mix of viruses and chemicals will do something to him. But not boost his immune system. I am surprised the DAN! has not spoken against this idea. I would not listen to a mainstream doc, they tend to repeat what the vaccine manufacturer tells them. Use an antiviral protocol, and immune boosters (real ones)such as Vitamin C, EpiCor, or colustrum, or other products designed to do that. I fear what would happend to this child if he were given that vaccine. > > I'm posting this message for a friend who has a child on the > spectrum. I would suggest going to the nearest health food store and looking around for liquids or pills, if the child can take pills, and seeing what other options she has. They sell plenty of GFCF immuine boosting products that are also organic and natural. Tell her not to feel pressured by ANY doctor, I mean they are the ones that caused this to start with. Doctors aren't interested in children's health, they along with the drug compaines, want you to be sick so they can get paid by treating your symptoms. ask your friend to please explore options outside of the needle. Good luck.

Guest guest
Hi , So here is what happened to us... had the Pneumovax twice (2 years apart) to determine if he could maintain the titers and EACH time developed cellulitus at the site - so much so that he was hospitalized for 7 days IV antibiotics. Seems there is a component to the vaccination (polysaccaride ? or the Phenol that is used in the vaccination ? We still aren't sure) that has a severe reaction to. Oh - And I checked the Merck website for info on Pneumovax reactions and found this: " " " " In post-marketing experience, injection site cellulitis-like reactions were reported rarely; between 1989 and 2002, when approximately 43 million doses were distributed, the annual reporting rate was <2/100,000 doses. These cellulitis-like reactions occurred with initial and repeat vaccination at a median onset time of 2 days after vaccine administration and were transient in nature. " " " " Call her doctor and tell them about her reaction - is the site hot and swollen and red ? Then go to your doctor. And good luck. Guest guest
Thank you for your response Kim. Yea, I read that too. I was doing some research about it this morning. Seems like we can't win sometimes ( : We are doing exactly what you did. Our doctor gave her her first Pneumovax on Monday because of the pneumonia she had this past winter and then checking titers in a few weeks. It really stinks that by trying to do something that seems good, they can end up with cellulitis. I did call the doctor this morning, and they said exactly what you said---if the injection site looks normal, then all is well. However, if it starts to look like you described, then we need to go in. Did develop a fever, and how long did it last? Because I think that with cellulitis, you can develop a fever as well, so I am trying to keep an eye on that as well. Well, thanks for your help. Guest guest
My daughter reacted to the pneumovax. Her arm more than doubled in size, was hot and red, she couldnt move it at all, or even sleep there was so much pain, she spiked a temp over 103 that kept going up even with tylenol and motrin, and a nasty cough/asthma flare and sinus infection symptoms. She was sick for a solid week before she started getting any better. she no longer gets any vaccinations, bc she reacted that was to the flu shot as well. valarie mom to 3 w/cvid > > Good morning everyone. Guest guest
Well, we went to the doctor yesterday after she had some red blotches on her leg. Four different doctors looked at her, including her local immunologist. (Her local immunologist and pediatrician are in the same office) None of them had ever seen a reaction like this before to Pneumovax, so they did take a picture and send it to the pharmaceutical company. However, she only ended up with a prescribed antihistamine. After getting more red last night, we prayed over her. This morning, it looks a ton better. Yesterday she ran a fever of 99.0 all day, but today she has no fever, and feeling much better. So praise the Lord, she is on the upswing of things. Thank you all for your input. It really helped to know when to take her in and what to look for. Guest guest
I hope that she is feeling better. The blotches definitely sound allergic. *I* had an allergic reaction to the pneumovax when I had to repeat it in the winter to check my titers. My arm swelled, I ran fever, extremely fatigued, flared my asthma, all my joints ached--it felt worse than the flu. I couldn't get out of bed for 72 hours, and could barely move for a week. I did not develop cellulitis, but I had to take prednisone because 2 antihistamines weren't enough to counteract it. I was my third time being vaccinated with the pneumovax. Never again. Turns out the main component in the vaccine was bovine serum--I am very allergic to beef. You may want to also check the ingredient list.
