They didnt conduct the trial in a correct manner. People stayed on whatever meds they were already on for a start and the length of the trial was very inadequate. When and I went to a seminar at UCSF recently they were very very reluctant to discuss the trial. more than once offered his time if they wanted to talk to him about his experiences with his three years on LDN but they were not interested even though his neuro that prescribes the LDN works at UCSF!! The fact that they think it`s for symptom relief just shows how little they know. has showed no disease progression for the three years he`s been on it and his neuro (despite prescribing it) still says that s MS is probably benign. Guest guest
The trial was too short. Also, we have had a few people from the trial get on our chat site and have had good results with LDN. One got out of a wheel chair and into a walker. Then when the trial was over he went back to the wheel chair because they would not continue to give him LDN. He had to find another doctor so he could commence. I am hoping that the trial in Italy will show us more what we know to be true regarding MS symptoms and lack of progression. Guest guest
Aletha, I'd like to know what they come up with in Italy. The man who got off LDN and had to go back to his wheelchair - I'll have to remember that. Thank you, Dwan ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing. Guest guest
well, I did participate in the trial myself and have been on LDN since Apr 07 & am still on it. During this period, and a few days after the study - end of August 07 - was concluded I developed optic neuritis. From that time till today, while I still take LDN, I haven't noticed any impovement or worsening. Am about the same, but will continue taking LDN because I feel the time is too short that am on LDN. Guest guest
hi al,the italian trial is now stopped due to a case of renal insuficence occured to a pat. it probably happened to a my neurologist pat.because he told me about it,but he was sure it was not due to ldn,and he wrote so in his report but when the trial on ppms finished with god results on ms symptoms and the comission decided to go on with a new trial duble blind on rrms, they stopped it because of that renal ins. till now i think it is steel stopped, the comission should have a meting on febbruary to get a decision on it. considering now the effect that ldn has on ms symptoms,i'm another ms pat.that got big improvment in my lifestyle. my best emiliano ----- Messaggio originale -----Da: Aletha Wittmann <Aletha@...>A: low dose naltrexone Inviato: Sabato 19 gennaio 2008, 1:46:58Oggetto: Re: [low dose naltrexone] Dwan-UCSF clinical trial MS/LDN Results The trial was too short.
