Hi ,

Ativan (an antianxiety medication) is not incompatible with LDN. The usual dose

is 1 to 2 mg in divided doses with food. Divided doses means one in the morning

and one in the evening (not both at once). So, 1 mg with breakfast should do the

trick (assuming you are having the MRI in the morning), or 1 mg with lunch (if

you are having the MRI in the afternoon).

[low dose naltrexone] Re; LDN and other Drug interactions

I am having an MRI tomorrow and have been given 2

tablets of Ativan (Lorazepam) to take before the

appointment as I am terribly claustraphobic. I am

presently on 3.0mg with LDN and I am concerned about

drug interaction. Is this drug safe to take while on

LDN, and should I take 2 tablets or is one enough they

are 1mg each. I am on LDN for MS, and weigh 115 lbs.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Dudley:

You're the best, I knew I would get a response from

you. I will follow your advise to take 1mg in the

afternoon with food the appointment is scheduled for 4

pm. Thanks so very much.

Hi ,

I'm claustrophobic too so when I've had to have MRI's done in the

past, a technician one time asked if I would like to lay a wash cloth

over my eyes... I have to say it helped. I guess because it's a

familiar " view " so to speak. i.e. You've probably had a wash cloth

over your eyes before and if you opened your eyes you see

cloth...instead of the MRI tube. dunno... it helped me.

However, I've taken Xanax before an MRI too...and you won't EVEN care

that you are getting the MRI done if you take the anti-anxiety drug.

Just make sure you have someone to drive you.

Also, I've had friends go in with me while I'm getting the MRI done.

They massage my feet while the test is going on ...makes you feel

'connected' to the outside. I've got great friends.

Best wishes..

Jann
