Guest guest
--Hi Janie, Stop the avonex shots now and let LDN work like it is supposed to. Using both together makes them work against eachother. I did avonex, a few years ago, before I knew about LDN. LDN has been the best treatment for me. Take care, - In low dose naltrexone , Janie Swoboda <grama.janie@...> wrote: > > Hi group, > This is my 1st outgoing message. > I was diagnosed with MS thru MRI's & a spinal tap 1 yr ago after experiencing optic neuritis. I have very few other symptoms. I was put on Avonex injections immediately. The side affects are no fun. I found out about LDN recently. My neurologist agreed to let me take 4.5 mg, which I started last week. He wants me to continue the Avonex. Does anyone have any experience with taking both? I am considering stopping the shots when my supply runs out at the end of March. > Thanks, > Janie > > > --------------------------------- > Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
Hi Janie, You should not take an immune suppressant along with LDN. As has said in the past "it is like having the breaks and the gas on at the same time". LDN helps the immune system and Avonex suppress it. Neither should be able to work fully when taking them together. You should inform your doctor of this as well. I have just sent you a copy of what not to take with LDN and a copy of the welcome e-mail. These should be good things to bring into your doctor. My best Aletha [low dose naltrexone] Avonex with LDN Hi group, This is my 1st outgoing message. I was diagnosed with MS thru MRI's & a spinal tap 1 yr ago after experiencing optic neuritis. I have very few other symptoms. I was put on Avonex injections immediately. The side affects are no fun. I found out about LDN recently. Guest guest
Hi Janie, as I've understood Avonex is suppressing the immunesystem, this is the opposite to LDN which is boosting the immune system. If you combine those two medicines none of them will work properly. The best from Ingrid [low dose naltrexone] Avonex with LDN Hi group, This is my 1st outgoing message. Guest guest
Hi Janie, It's my understanding, that Copaxone is the only one of the " CRAB " drugs that can be taken with LDN. My neuro/MS specialist recommended that I do both the LDN and the Copaxone, but I chose to do just the LDN. I wanted to see what it could do for me and I'm happy to say that, " so far, so good! " Best wishes, > > Hi group, > This is my 1st outgoing message. > I was diagnosed with MS thru MRI's & a spinal tap 1 yr ago after experiencing optic neuritis. I have very few other symptoms.
