Guest guest
Great thanks for information. I didn't think of there as I am particularly interested in the GI aspect. Guest guest
My 5 year old son is on LDN transdermal for the past 1 month. His main symptom is rectal bleeding for the past 6 months. He is diagnosed with IBD and possibly Crohn's colitis. When he started LDN, he was on 25 mg prednisone. Slowly reduced prednisone over the last 1 month to now 10 mg. Though the bleeding was under control, it has come back over the last week when we went from 12.5 to 10 mg in pred. He is on GFCF diet. We are waiting for all tests that Dr McCandless has ordered to see if there are other health problems in my son which is identifiable and not treated now. He is on GFCF diet. I am not sure how helpful LDN cream has been, only time will tell. But I think it did not have any worsening side-effects on him so it is definitely worth trying. Guest guest
Hi, the lower dose you are giving him due to prednisone the more LDN TD cream will work. So just wait and see if the improvements will be seen soon. Does he eat Gluten free and n No Dairy? No Sugar? No Soy? Guest guest
Hi Ingrid, My son is on a gluten free, diary free, sugar free, soy free diet. He is on a brown rice/egg white/ and vegetables diet. I really hope he gets some kind of relief. He has been bleeding for more than 6 months now with just a 10 day relief in the middle. Guest guest
Hi, I just see that you do a lot to help your son. I don't know how long time he has been on this diet, but I understand that having improvements while on one or another diet often takes time. I know a mother doing the Maker's diet for her son, and I know another that use the SCDiet (Ms. Gottschalls book: Breaking the Viscious Cycle). Her theory is to avoid certain carbs, sugar and milk. She has introduced home made yogurt to help the intestines. This yogurt contains loads of probiotics, so it's fantastic in reducing inflammations in the intestines. If you use glutenfree wheat you will not get rid of the carbs that is increasing the inflammation leading the intestines to bleed, due to the theories of Ms. Elaine Gottschall. I have red her book, it's so much to learn. My advice is: order the book from www.amazon.com and learn more about this diet. It's known as rigid, but helpful. The Maker's is known as a bit easier. But no grains even there. LDN may help him, but please, consider one of those diets. I think you orders the Maker's by googling Rubin Jordan, or Maker's Diet, and you order it directly from his sites. Good Luck! The best wishes to you and your son!
