Guest guest
My 100 capsules of 1.5 mg of LDN arrived today! I took 1 - I'm to take 1/day. 1) How long has it taken for people to get MS relief? 2) What kind of MS relief do people feel first? 3) Does LDN help relieve MS-stiffness better than Baclofen does? Thank you, Dwan
Guest guest
Dwan, Congratulations on starting LDN! I don't think you will regret it. I can give you some thoughts based on my daughter's experience. She was Dx with MS in September 2005 and was on Rebif for one year before going to LDN. Getting off the Rebif helped her feel a lot better in itself! She had a terrible year on that stuff. However, she hasn't had any truly debilitating symptoms to deal with. How long have you had MS? Have you ever been on any other treatment? My daughter started LDN gradually beginning at 1.5 like you are. The first improvement she noticed was probably improved mood and increased energy - that was easily within the first two weeks. She had been experiencing a LOT of sensory symptoms, and those began to slowly improve within a few weeks, too. (She went up .5 mg each week, beginning at 1.5 and stopping at 3 mg.) Her most problematic symptoms were spasms of her arm and leg on the same side of her body and the " MS Hug " , so she was taking baclofen and also ativan, which seemed to help a lot. She weaned herself off the baclofen gradually and was completely off within a month of starting LDN. That was amazing and we were very thankful! It surprised me that those things seemed to respond more quickly than the sensory things. The reason she stayed at 3 mg for a long time was because when she reached 3 mg her sensory symptoms worsened a bit. It made her nervous to go any higher. After about 3 months she felt ready to move to 3.5mg and after 3 more months she moved to 4 mg. At each level there was obvious improvement. She has been doing very well. She is not free of symptoms entirely but the ones she has are minor in the scheme of things. Sorry to go on for so long. Everybody's experience is so different - I hope yours is fantastic and wish you all the best! Be optimistic! Beach
Guest guest
Hi Dwan, Has your doc prescribed the 1.5 mg for longer than one month? Generally speaking (and what I did) you start out at a lower dosage of LDN (such as 1.5, 2, 2.5 or 3mg), but then work up to the recommended 4.5 mg dosage within a few months. I actually started out on 3 mg and had immediate results...I mean the morning after my first dosage, I experienced relief from symptoms! The numbness/tingling in my feet and the spasticity were gone. (It returns, to a lesser degree, by evening, but every morning, it's gone.) I've been on 4.5 mg I think going on my 3rd month. The only negative side-effects I had, was sleep difficulties for about the first month or two, but I took Tylenol PM or Benadryl at night and that helped me sleep. I now don't have to take anything to help me sleep. > > Thank you, > > Dwan >
