Guest guest
Might be your 24-hour endorphin cycle. Might be melatonin. Maybe you are so exausted by then you can't stay awake any more. If your doctor would prescribe it, it might be worth a shot. If you can't afford them I guess painkillers are out (don't you just love the medical " system " ?). Don't want you doing B & Es to support your habits :-) It was a joke, please, don't hit. Good luck with your pain. I gotta go take an advil. For all you pain-sufferers: watch http://www.paintrials.com/ for them to be done all their phase III trials. This is oxycodin and LDN! The patents are being written by Crain and Shen! It does not have addictive potential! OK, could be more hype. Wait and see. -Sullivan
Guest guest
Hi guys! And gals! I have had Chronic Epstein-Barr Virus for the past almost 9 months now--full blown case with all the symptoms all the time. I also have chronic pain from a c-spine injury--chronic nerve pain. I sometimes use Ultram and Tylenol combo, but they don't do much. I get by with herbs--Passion Flower is a good one for pain and sleep. I also use a TENS---or Transcutaneous electronic nerve stimulator, and massage from a massage wand, traction sometimes, moist heat, ice, mild stretching exercises--all these in combo. So I do without opioids. I haven't started LDN yet--still waiting for the doc's prescription in the mail, and then I'll call a pharmacy in Manhattan and get it by mail, as it is cheaper that way. I am on SSI and MediCal won't pay for this experimental drug. The only compounding pharmacy in Sacramento, CA, where I live charges $68 for 90 -1.5mg tabs of LDN. I think I will order the 4.5mg tabs. I think that is what the doc wrote out anyway. It is cheaper in NY. I also have had fibromyalgia for years, along with chronic depression, arthritis, spastic colon, gastric reflux disease, chronic kidney stones (tiny thank God) and possibly a few other things I can't think of right now. I have brain fog too. I am hoping LDN will help me. I hope I can still take Passion Flower and Tylenol, and Ambien or Melatonin along with the LDN, as I have not just chronic pain but chronic insomnia too. I cannot fall asleep without something. And then I sleep 2-3 hours and then can't sleep more until totally exhausted. Yeah, what do you do if you have REALLY BAD PAIN? OPEN TO ADVICE HERE PLEASE.------------ ette > I'd sure like to see it. As if the MS is not bad enough, your husband has certainly got more than his share of ailments. I hope the best for him and you! > > Marcie (PPMS) > > > > In a message dated 4/7/2004 8:02:11 AM Central Standard Time, toredol580@a... writes: > > > > Subj:[low dose naltrexone] (no subject) > Date:4/7/2004 8:02:11 AM Central Standard Time > From: toredol580@a... > Reply-to: low dose naltrexone > low dose naltrexone > > > > > Hello everyone. My name is , and I have occasionally, though rarely, responded to various posts. However, the spinal cord injury has reared its ugly head in the past couple of months. Because of that, he's having to use the Oxycodone that was prescribed early last fall, which means the LDN is only a once-in-awhile option for us now. > It seems like for every four days he takes the Oxy, he's able to go without it only two days. We've tried using the LDN on those days, but the way it looks, it's not doing much good this way. > I'm just wondering if anyone else has any comparable experience, whether with pain because of an injury, or pain due to the MS itself. > I feel desperate, yet it's hard to read my husband's feelings on this. Depression seems to be running rampant within him and I try to avoid getting him too agitated by bringing up his obviously failing health. > Any input will help; I'm grasping here.
