A CURE for MS and Hundreds of Other Chronic Diseases-SCNT???

According to CNN, May 1, 2002......"The bill (backed by President Bush) banning all cloning is sponsored by Senators Sam Brownback, R-Kansas, and Landrieu, D-Louisiana, who argue there is a "slippery slope" between cloning for research and creating human beings."

Many of our representatives who would ban all types of "cloning"... human cloning, therapeutic stem cell research, regenerative research (as referred to by Senator Hatch,R-Utah) and somatic cell nuclear transfer........ would impose up to a $1,000,000 fine and/or ten years in prison.

Year after year the debate continues, and precious time and money is wasted!

My question: What is the difference between the Taliban imposing their religious values and some of our government leaders who would impose their religious values by implementing harsh penalties of huge fines and/or imprisonment?
