Guest guest
Laureen Many autistic children have big gut issues. Subscribe to Autism_LDN and read the FILES section which has a lot of first class information on dealing with gut issues. Dr McCandless had a transdermal form of LDN developed for children especially and I think she starts kids a one mg at about 11 pm. You can get more info in her group. Hope this helps. mjh Posted by: "laureen_forman" lforman@... laureen_forman Sun Jan 20, 2008 12:45 pm (PST) Hi -I am considering trying this for my 5 year old son who has had a colonscopy and endoscopy which showed Esophogitis, Gastritis, Duodinitis and LNH in the Small Intestine. A blood test did show a positive marker for Chron's. That scope showed his colon was fine. He did well with 1 course of Flagyl (Dec 2006) and started Pentasa and Zantac in April of last year. Everything was great starting the mew meds.In the past month however, he's pretty much back to baseline GI wise even though he is still on the Pentasa & Zantac. We are currently trying Predinsone and are on the 2nd day and have not noticed any improvement but it's still early. He will only be on this for about 6 weeks.Has anyone had good results for young children for GI issues? If so, what was the best method oral or TD? What was the dose?Interested in any and all feedback. Thanks!!Laureen Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year. Guest guest
Hi Laureen, Welcome to this group! :-) the transdermal is best for children, 3 mg is the dose. Don't start LDN before he has tapered Prednisone down to at least 5 mg. Guest guest
Hello Laureen, My 7 year old daughter is currently on LDN for Hepatitis B (another Gastro disease). You can read our story on Messages #56843 & 58403. We have had dramatic results in LDN helping her liver. We started off with 1 mg at night (via pill at bedtime) and a couple of months ago we went up to 1.5 mg a night. Some on the Autism Group have children on 3 mg a night, but they don't recommend going over that 3 mg amount in children. You can always start low (1 mg) and work your way up, depending upon your results. Here's a link to the LDN study with Crohn's from the University of PA, in case you don't have a copy of it: LDN American Journal of Gastroenterology_2007.pdf http://f1.grp.fs.com/v1/MFyVR42FgISSCwz11ZbUV6vI3uF6boHQnZs6aNAaS aOepFAM9VOJgHt8MTxsbu_v10t24BTs57cCV6LudCac1LKi0seB8_SERQ/LDN% 20American%20Journal%20of%20Gastroenterology_2007.pdf May your child be blessed soon with great health!
