Guest guest
FYI, 5HTP can cause diarrhea, nausea, gas, bloating, stomach rumbling, and decreased libido. I've been on 50mg to help me sleep for the past few weeks in attempts to deal with LDN-related sleep issues (and it does help), and I think I just figured out why I've been having all these awful gastric symptoms the past 10 days. I had labs done to check for bacteria and parasites and it all came back negative. Then I thought to google " 5HTP side effects " and what do you know? I could have written the list myself. I know the sleep issue comes up on this list sometimes and thought I'd put this out there for those considering their options. Wow, am I relieved! I couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. Drugs like Prozac are Selective Seretonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRI). In a way, 5HTP and Prozac are similar. They are both working to increase the concentration of seretonin in us. I took 5HTP for a couple of weeks and started getting aggressive. If I still were roofing houses, I'd have the strength to back up the aggression. In my current physical weenie state, aggression is a bad thing.
