Guest guest
, I believe Houston makes a chewable protease too - Peptizyde. So, if you are feeling overwhelmed about enzymes you could get that, and maybe the chewable Zyme Prime and No Fenol ones too while you're at it. It would be kinda expensive but all of your bases would be covered simply. Otherwise, 1/4 tsp of each HNI enzyme in powder form is adaquate for most snacks/meals. Just remember to go slow and start one at a time... you know the drill. It is especially true for enzymes, though, in my experience. For us, those first three weeks were hairy :-). I'd start with Zyme Prime first, then add in Peptizyde (this one was wicked at first, just use a sprinkle - did I mention that already? LOL), then No-Fenol if you choose to include it. No-Fenol is *great for yeast. We don't have big phenol issues here, but use it with every meal for now, and also with GSE between meals when a little more muscle is required. take care René > >Candidase or Candex enzyme, or No-Fenol which also comes as chewable. > > So, No-Fenol will work to protect against yeast even in a child that > is not phenol-intolerant? Thanks, Rene'! This is exactly what I needed. I still have some Digest Gold, so if I start with the Zyme, then I can see if he'll eat the chewables or if I should go with powder, and then swap out the Peptizyde for the Digest Gold (which is mostly protease) when I get run out...how does that sound? How *are* the chewables? Are they decent tasting? I guess I could always encapsulate them if he doesn't like them. > It would be kinda expensive but all of your bases would be >covered simply. Ah, so the chewables are more $ I guess. > Just remember to go slow and >start one at a time... you know the drill. It is especially true for >enzymes, though, in my experience. I've been seeing a lot more sugar cravings lately (after starting chelation) so I'm worried about yeast, which is why I want the No-Fenol. Today we mixed Digest Gold in chocolate, and we tasted a bit and didn't wash it down with anything. Ughh!! We both had the taste of stomach acid in our mouths. Got to wash that down to where it needs to be pretty darn quick Stroyan www.empathic-discipline.com Click here to email me directly: <mailto:lstroyan@...>lstroyan@... Yes, it breaks down the yeast cell wall. I'll have to see if I can get my son to > take these but a chewable would be great. HNI has three enzymes available as chewables http://www.houstonni.com/ > Is there an easy, basic enzyme mix/combo that works for most > kids? Zyme Prime from HNI. Guest guest
Hi , comments interspersed... Well, it sounds good to me, but I've never tried the Digest Gold so I'm not sure how much difference there is with the Houston products. Peptizyde is fairly specialized in the sense that besides the regular protease it has a lot of DPP-IV for casein and gluten. You could try transitioning to the Zyme Prime first, if you want. It has some protease in it, and is meant to be a broad spectrum product. Actually, this would probably be a good question for and others on the Enzyme group.... > > How *are* the chewables? However, because enzymes are so specific and will *only* work on what they work on and nothing else (sorry, not sure how to be clearer), you might see some funny stuff if the Peptizyde is addressing a digestive issue that the other enzymes didn't. FWIW we saw a lot of volatile behaviour starting Pepetizyde (mixed with fairly dramatic gains) after being on Zyme Prime for a bit, and after trying a bottle of Kirkman enzymes. So... who knows? > I've been seeing a lot more sugar cravings lately (after starting > chelation) so I'm worried about yeast, which is why I want the No- Fenol. > > Today we mixed Digest Gold in chocolate, and we tasted a bit and > didn't wash it down with anything. Much better. We are able to put them in juice, no problem, and our son is FUSSY. I would start with the bromelain and papain-free versions first, and move on to the others if need be. Papain and bromelain can also cause problems for sensitive individuals. We do use the large containers of loose powder, it's more economical for us. take care René
