Guest guest
You hear the screech of tires and a loud crash in front of your house, then you hear someone screaming for help. You start to tremble as you remember that the last place you saw your two children was playing in the yard in front of the house. As you run out the door you are relieved to see your two kids standing on the side walk, but then are horrified to see another young child, their friend, lying in the street in front of a car. You see the driver on his cell phone calling 911. You run in the house and grab your first aid kit and your First Aid Reference guide and Workbook. You remember that one of the first things it says is to stay calm, you take a deep breath... As you run back outside you see several onlookers are now at the scene, but no one is really doing anything to help. You put on your latex gloves and jump to action. You start to apply continuous direct pressure to the boys head laceration and then start to wrap the pressure bandage around the wound as you tell your son to get the cold pack out of the first aid kit and put it on his forehead to help with the pain and swelling. While waiting for the paramedics to arrive you begin to comfort the child and say in a reassuring voice … " Your going to be OK " . Today you have made a positive difference in this child's life. Thank goodness you thought ahead and bought the Helping Hands First Aid & CPR Reference Guide and Workbook.
