Guest guest
If it was me, I would stop the round. Give plenty of fluids, some electrolyte drinks. J > > Hi folks, > can anyone give me a quick response to this one? I started round #2 on DMSA (TD) for my 4 yo yesterday afternoon. He was kind of upset/crying a lot/and acting more " autistic " already prior to the first dose, after school, but I did not think of much since this happens a lot. Anyhow, I started round 2 at 3 pm, and dosed it every 3-4 hours since then, 0.2 ml each time which equals about 46 mgs per dose, as prescribed. He did not have a problem with this dosage last time, other than some yeast flare up. > > Anyhow, last night (after 4 dosed of DMSA) he started vomitting. I tried giving him probiotics (was that a good idea?) and it stayed down. Later, I added 2 virastop enzymes as I thinnk his vomting is viral, maybe he got it from school, and it just seems to coincide with the DMSA round? Guest guest
, I would stop the round. Already he has missed doses from vomiting them up. My son vomited during chelation while I was using VS and other antivirals. The round was at a very low dose that he had tolerated previously. There may be some sort of connection, as you suspect, between the viruses (whether long-term or something he picked up from school) and chelation that makes everything worse. I would also consider going even lower the next round, just to be on the safe side. I hope he's feeling better soon. You too: I know how worrying it is. Guest guest
No he hasn't missed doses from vomiting them up (I overlooked the TD part). Sorry. But still stop the round. It's not a good idea to push things, particularly in a situation where he may be deyhydrated. Anita > > > > Hi folks, > > can anyone give me a quick response to this one? Guest guest
This does not sound to be chelation related to me. Stopping the round makes sense. Try not to over-treat the stomach issue. Lots of stuff seems to make sense, but when you see them fly passed your ear or pool on the floor obviously they didn't help.:'^o I think you should check for fever associated with the vomiting. You do want to keep fluids going as best as possible without causing more up-chucking. Maybe a few sips of Seven-Up or Sprite on ice through a straw can help curb the stomach upset. Keep an eye on monitoring the potty part of things. [ ] Re: URGENT! discontinuing our 2nd round of DMSA? No he hasn't missed doses from vomiting them up (I overlooked the TD part). Sorry. Guest guest
I know this may be misconstrued as medical advice but as a grandparent, I wouldn't give the dose. He may be having one of the stomach viruses that are going around and you don't need to have him coping with both those things at once. Peace, Kathy E. > > Hi folks, > can anyone give me a quick response to this one? I started round #2 on DMSA (TD) for my 4 yo yesterday afternoon. Guest guest
It sounds like perhaps he was coming down with something prior to the round, although DMSA - if you're opening the capsule and mixing it - would be pretty awful tasting on top of anything viral. My son is always more " autistic " when he is getting a virus, and it used to last up to 10 days before the virus hit (now I use antivirals at the first sign of it, and he hasn't actually gotten sick all year.) My son also was on DMSA/aLA chelation at that age, and he was sick (viral) literally every other weekend from having such a bad immune system, and picking up things at school. Usually when he was visibly sick, I'd skip the round. Chelation depresses the immune system further and I was already nervous that he was sick so often. However at that time I didn't know about antivirals and immune system boosters, so maybe you can help his immune system withstand the preschool years by using those during the week, and not miss as many rounds. Guest guest
Hi Amy, thanks so much for responding. And thanks for addressing my overall concern as well, which seems to be a strong body and immune system that could stand the stress of chelation. I think I am going to order an immune system booster.... I have heard of Transfer Factor, LDN (?), anything else that you or anyone else can recommend for my 4 year old who I am trying to rid off metals? Vitamin C is out of the game for now as he is not tolerating it (will be treated with NAET this week). I have used OLE, which was GREAT (did some wonderful things to him), however, I am not ready to fully go after the viruses....maybe at a low dose that could be helpful for his immune system also... All I am trying to do right now is have a nice balanced system that could take the chelation rounds well. I have a good yeast protocol, I am assured, because Evan did not have any outstanding issues this round with yeast (no diaper rash, nor thrush, just some minimal spitting and yes, stimming, but that was not very unusual for him). The Virastop at 4-6 per day seemed to help him along with Candidase this weekend with that viral thing btw... Any thoughts, anyone? Thanks so much. Guest guest
My son does well on Virastop (although the calcium is too much for him so he takes low, infrequent doses) and occasional OLE. He is so sensitive that he can't handle most supps in high doses or even every day without a break. He took high doses of beta-carotene with zinc, following approximately Dr. Megson's high-dose vitamin A protocol, 2 years ago. This made a huge difference - after that he'd still get sick, but not every 2 weeks like clockwork. Then this year - on OLE and Virastop - he hasn't missed a single day of school. Some things that he couldn't tolerate during chelation, he can handle now. Vitamin C was one of those things - he didn't tolerate any B's, then, either. Of the many supps recommended to support him during chelation and he could tolerate almost none of them. I did give him one drop of GSE with each round, for yeast. For my kids, Virastop tends to bring on yeast, as it addresses viruses. Amy > > Hi Amy, > > thanks so much for responding.
