Guest guest
Tami, Make sure you get the Free T3, Free T4 and Tsh, nothing else will tell you anything. I know lots of people, us included, who had to get this test repeated twice to get the appropriate tests. And do not go by the ref range on the lab test, these are for adults. When you get your ranges ask here for the correct pediatric ref ranges and someone can help you. You want the Free T3 in the upper third of the correct pediatric ref range, just a little lower does make a world of difference. Guest guest
Also the values were recently changed. Make sure the lab you are using is quoting current values, and as mentioned they are for pediatric evaluation. My doc always pulls the labs twice. It's amazing to see the differences sometimes....same person, within two weeks the numbers can be dramatically different. Probably foolish, but I attribute it to lab error.
