Some people say it's best to give on an empty stomach, but when we tried

that she complained of nausea, so we stopped. Caution if doing this on a

young or nonverbal child.

I have heard at least give it away from calcium, we don't. I think the most

important thing is to give the zinc 3-4 times a day. We do that.

best time to give Zinc?

It worked pretty fast for us and we give it to my daughter about an hour before

we know she will " conk out " . I say conk out because like many others, she is

up at 4 am and does not quit till near 8 pm or after.

Best Regards

best time to give Zinc?

I have ordered some Zinc from Kirkman's and want to try it with my

daughter in the hopes that it will help her sleep better at night.

Would it be best to give right before bed, or in the morning? She is 38

pounds, so I'm looking at giving her about 50-60 mg. Do I start at that

dose right away or build up to it?

Thanks for any advice,

Zinc usually causes pretty extreme nausea on an empty stomach. As

does niacin. I would always give zinc with a little food, although

perhaps not a high calcium item.

Usually it is best to start it in the morning, because if it dumps

copper too fast, it can cause hyper. So start at about 1/4 the final

dose, in the morning, and watch for reactions. If everything goes

okay, you can move it to the evening. I would give it at least an

hour before bedtime tho.

Start at about 10-15 mg per day for at least a week, and gradually

work up to your desired dose.

How did you calculate how much zinc was the proper dosage?

Thanks,
