Guest guest
THIS IS A CROSS POST FROM THE CHILDREN'S APRAXIA GROUP. SORRY FOR THE REDUNDANCY TO THOSE WHO ARE IN BOTH GROUPS. ----------- I don't want to be too optimistic, but pooped on the potty tonight! Yay! As per your advice, we've been giving him the fish oil (2 ProEFA's) with all three Houston enzymes in the morning. So now my follow-up questions: (1.) Do you think this indicates a problem with digesting fats in general? How would you test for that? (2.) Do you think I should give him more of the Houston enzymes in general, or specifically when I'm giving him the fish oil, or neither? Right now, he gets one chewable which is a fraction of a capsule (1/3 perhaps? -- not sure). And if I do increase, would it be just the Zyme Prime or all three? I really want to figure out this problem! Can you tell I'm a little obsessed by it? ----- HELPFUL RESPONSE Might try some Houston Nutraceuticals chewable Zyme Prime, which is a general digestive enzyme including a lipase to digest fats and oils. ---- MY ORIGINAL POST I've posted before regarding my son 's soft BM's. We've made limited progress using Houston enzymes and a probiotic. We took an accidental vacation from ProEFA for a month because our order was cancelled by mistake. We finally started up on them last week, and has been a conversational giant since then. Sharper, more give and take, etc. However, we were doing great on potty training - - about 1 or 2 accidents per week. Now it's the reverse -- he's pooping in the pull up almost every time. There is a 100% direct correlation between this setback and the ProEFA. I'm not really willing to give up the brain power, but I really need to fix this potty problem. It's going to limit us a lot as to what we can do for him this summer, as many camps and programs require potty training.
