Guest guest
Yesterday my son's DAN doctor recommended we look into the SCD diet because has some issues with yeast. I know www.pecanbread.com has great information on it. Is there anyone out there using the SCD diet? And are there any other resources or web sites you would recommend? Also, to get to take all his vitamins, I mix them in with breakfast and in his afternoon snack, both of which are usually sweet to some degree (like almond butter and jelly sandwiches). I wish the labs could somehow make all this stuff taste good! Anyhow, I know the SCD diet cuts out a lot of things at the beginning especially. Has anyone found good mixers for vitamins that kids will take (somewhat) willingly and that comply with the SCD? I am very lucky that is a good eater so he may be okay with even " far out " suggestions on this. Thanks!

Hi , We are yet to start the SCD diet, but a lovely person named recently sent me the following links to some great SCD websites. But it does not help with yeasts just at once. Many people on SCD have to take additionally anty-east remedies at the fist stage (2-3 months at least). Jogurt is also helpful. The main point of SCD is healing the gust. Just when guts are healed enough yeasts may go away. So if you start SCD consider continuing anti-east treatment for the fisrt few months or better start making jogurt or kefir. You can make it dairy if tolerated or non-dairy. In my opinion, kefir is more beneficial than jogurt. From my experience. My son had persistent yeasts/bacteria. I fought them for 1,5 year with zero result. 3 months on SCD did not help. But kefir worked just in a few days. For the last 9 months I've been giving my son kefir daily and since that he never had any yeast and bacteria problem. Guest guest
There is a group dedicated to the SCD diet--actually there are a couple, but the main one I know about is Pecanbread. Go to Home, and do a search on the word pecanbread. There are lots of helpful people there. We tried the SCD diet two years ago with good results.
