Guest guest
I just finished reading 's book last night; it rounded out my understanding of the files here but I have two main questions. I desperately want to leave gfcf; we've been cf for almost 2 yrs & gf since Jan. '05. Our son (allmost 13 yo)had an accidental gluten " infraction " (3 penne pasta) a couple weeks ago that sent him in a grouchy, constipated tailspin for 2 days--and I thought his gut was healing--which is why I turned to enzymes! Question 1: I started him on Kirkman's Peptidase Complete last Monday (thinking it comparable to Peptidyze before I read K's book). Do I need to be on Peptidyze in order to leave gfcf? Question 2: Am I correct that Peptidyze & other products that are basiclly proteases don't act on carbs & sugars (potato, etc.) & I should add Zyme Prime? Do I need to add Zyme Pryme because of the lipase and amylase before going gfcf? Thanks for all the help & patience in reading this lengthy post. I usually try to keep things very short. Do I > need to be on Peptidyze in order to leave gfcf? I'm not familiar with Kirkman's but I'm guessing the Peptidase will work just as well as Peptizyde. I know that Peptizyde has made it possible for my kids to digest casein, but it took about three months before they were completely able to digest casein, even without the enzymes. We're still taking the enzymes though, and staying mostly casein-free, to be on the safe side. We don't drink any cow's milk. I've had them drinking about 3 oz. of raw goat's milk each day since March. I think the raw goat's milk has been an important factor in helping them to digest casein. The raw milk has probiotics in it which will help casein digestion. And, I've read that goat's milk casein is easier to digest than cow's milk casein. They couldn't digest the goat's milk at first though, without the Peptizyde. > Question 2: Am I correct that Peptidyze & other products that are > basiclly proteases don't act on carbs & sugars (potato, etc.) & I > should add Zyme Prime? Guest guest
I'd start with Zyme Prime and then and AFP Protease, which has peptidases in it but not the fruit-based enzymes that are sometimes not tolerated. My grandson did very well on that. Peace, Kathy E. > > I just finished reading 's book last night; it rounded out my > understanding of the files here but I have two main questions.
