Guest guest
Hi everyone! Just wanted to send an update on our appointment with the neurologist today regarding my concern about 's head...basically, he confirmed that is fine! The neuro (Dr. Alan Cohn at Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital) was very analytical and listened to what we have already been through and asked many questions about 's growth, development, measured his (and 's) head circ., relooked at the xrays taken at 7 months, felt his head, looked in his eyes, ears and throat, looked at our DOC band and headcicle, etc. He looked at both boys pretty seriously (as they are identical). He takes plagio seriously, was aware of our local helmet and the DOC band and even knew that a DOC clinic had opened in Cleveland in the last two weeks (YEAH for that!!). Overall, he confirmed that there is a slight slope (upward from front to back) but that the sutures are closing on schedule and that this was just how 's head was supposed to be. He also saw a slight slope on 's head. The boys have very little blond hair so it is easy to see everything (including all of the scratches and bumps they seem to give each other!) When we first saw neuros for the plagio diagnosis, we saw another doctor in his department (his calendar was full for 6 weeks) and she did not have this same approach. I wish he would have been available then, although it wouldn't have changed much of our course of action. Am I paranoid? Maybe, but as most of us have learned, better to question and be told no than to ignore until it gets too late!! Guest guest
Sue: I'm so glad to hear that is OK!! Yay! I don't think you're paranoid at all. With all that we have learned over this past year, who ever knows!! Better to check and be told all is OK than to not ask and regret later. You're such a good Mommy! ) Kendra in Canada ----- Original Message ----- From: msluck Plagiocephaly Sent: Monday, February 19, 2001 6:32 PM Subject: 's head shape Hi everyone!
