I am new to the group and hope to learn a lot of new stuff. I am a

member of a few other list serves. Most of them realted to ASD and

currently have their children under the DAN protocal. My son is 6

years old and does not have autism but is severaly apraxic,

hypotonia and some sensory issues. We see a DAN dr. up in

Richmond,VA. Have been doing most of what she has recommended.

However, I am surprised she has never suggested Enzymes. We have

attemped to do the GFCF diet for 7 mos now. We are doing just ok

with it. My son has always eaten a wide variety of foods and has

never had any issues with his bowels. At least not until we started

all this diet stuff. We have had many tests done. One was that IGG

test. The only thing that was mod/high was pure cane sugar. The

gluten and casein were on the low portion. But his Dr. is so big

with the GFCG diet that she feels he should be on this. I am

interested in trying the enzymes. I am just not sure which one to

start with?? Everyone swears by removing all glutens/caseins it has

helped their kids in everyway. Maybe by adding the enzymes this

will help with any oops we have with the gfcg diet.

The first test that was done a year ago, did show he had some Yeast

Issues. We went through the whole Nystatin thing, was not fun,

made him angry all the time. We do some natural things now and some

Yeast Aid from Kirkmans. Have not had this rechecked yet, tests

get to be very costly... He is only several other things that we

think have helped some.

But thanks in advance for any suggestions on how to get stared with

Enzymes.

Thank you,
