Guest guest
Last night at my therapy session the DR said that my son should go on meds. This was a blow to me both mentally and emotionally. I know he is not getting better. There is a whole back story to his issues that only we know, I am sure your families are the same. I have been battling my own problems. I have not been consistent and I often lose it with him. I must confess meds would be the easy answer but I just don't feel called to that option. Besides that I know nothing about what types of meds are typically used and what the benefits / drawbacks could be. Part of me is afraid that meds would make things worse. My husband is having a difficult time even accepting the diagnosis, I know he is against meds, he thinks the diet is really a pain and that it won't work. So my questions are: 1. What types of meds are commonly used for AS / OCD in children? 2. Is it a trial and error thing or do they generally help? 3. What modified diet are you on if any? 4. How many of you are on a modified diet without meds? 5. How many are on the modified diet WITH meds? 6. How do you find assistance/support in your local area for these issues?
