Guest guest
Hi, Is impulsivity considered part of Asperger Syndrome? My dd (age 5) can be impulsive at times, acting without thinking. Her school PT says she does this when working with her (physical therapy), and misses some of the instructions because of it. It is a issue at home too. She also gets silly and hyper at times, but its not to the point that I think she has ADHD. It has been interpreted as she's not self- regulated and needs sensory input, by her OT. I'm having a hard time getting her to follow her sensory diet right now. I am trying to teach her to self-regulate, but I'm not sure how. She seems to be slowly eliminating everything from her sensory activities, and refusing to do them when she shows symptoms that she needs them. She is not currently in OT, so I don't have any current guidance from an OT. Any thoughts?
