Is your son physically very active? Is he sensory-seeking in any way? We had these issues with the kids in my family growing up and what really helped with all of us was non-team-oriented sports, like martial arts. Martial arts teaches kids control over their bodies and appropriate levels of controlling and using aggression. It's a marvelous tool for allowing kids to vent and channel that energy appropriate and positively, and teaches wonderful discipline, self-respect and respect for others. Shop around to find a good school that is patient and not competitive...They exist. I personally enjoy kung fu.
